Its main function was to spread Jesus teachingsThe twelve disciples of Jesus were Jews, and men of faith who have abandoned everything in their lives to become his closest followers. The men were selected to spread the message of the gospel of Jesus to all nations. The twelve disciples were trained to be leaders for Jesus for three years, and which include, Peter, Matthew, James, John, Andrew, Philip, Simon, Bartholomew, James (the less), Jude, Judas, and Thomas.
