Is Veterans Day a bank holiday?

Is Veterans Day a bank holiday? I'm aware that it's a public holiday hence, most public offices would be closed but does this include banks as well. Can you also give me an update on the Veterans Day specials and events in 2018? I'd also love to have updates on 2018 Veterans Day discounts.

Bank holidays are synonymous with federal holidays since most of them adopt the U.S federal holiday calendar. Veterans Day always falls on November 11, and since it falls on a Sunday this year, many courts, government agencies and businesses are celebrating it on Monday, November 12. Many banks such as Citibank, Bank of America, and many others will be closed on Monday. Banks of America among all other holidays would be observing Veterans Day on Monday so, yes, Veterans Day is a bank holiday.

One of the most amazing features of Veterans Day celebration besides parades and events is the Veterans Day special offers, and they are also a way to honor veterans. Offers are usually announced late October and early November to prepare people for these great deals. Most of these special offers are often designed to favor veterans, their family, as well as some non-veterans. I believe it's an excellent way to encourage veterans. It is also very important to note that several stores, restaurants, and institutions offer people free items and discounts on Veterans Day. Some of these include free meals at veterans’ organizations like Legions, DAV, VFW; free admission to local parks and recreation centers; free admission to museums, zoos, and amusement parks, etc. Also, at the state level, there's going to be free entrance to Alabama state parks; Montgomery zoo would also be offering a 50 percent discount on admission fee. It's also interesting to know that as from 9 a.m on Sunday, November 11, to 6 p.m the same day, the Aquarium of the Pacific would be offering free admission to veterans. There's also an offer from Knott's Berry Farm which is going to be valid from November 1 to 15. This covers admission for veterans and one guest. Extra tickets may be obtained by the military personnel at a subsidized rate. The Lyon air museum is also offering free admission to veterans, active duty soldiers, as well as retired military on 11th November 2018.

Also, from Mammoth mountain, veterans are going to be given an opportunity to ride for free on Veterans Day. Yosemite National park, CA, is also offering the public free admission on Veterans Day. The Pueblo zoo in Colorado is giving free admission to all veterans (active and retired) and their families from November 10 to 11. Hagley Museum, DE will also be offering free admission to veterans.

These are amazing opportunities anyone doesn't want to miss. So, do well to inform your friends and relatives who are veterans about the free meals, tickets, and discounted prices so that they can maximize these opportunities to the fullest; Veterans Day only comes once in a year.

Veterans Day specials have always been my favorite part of Veterans Day. Believe me, it's not something you'd want to miss. You can't even afford to give your free ticket to another person. I've come to realize that veterans are like the most engaged workers or employees of every government. In fact, their job is even more demanding than any other because it involves taking risks that could endanger their lives. So, this is like the only opportunity they have to relax from work, spend the day with their loved ones and do something fun in their lives. Thus, the best way to maximize the Veterans Day with their families is going out to the places that have been mentioned in the answer. You don't even have to complain about having no money to finance the entry tickets since most of them are free. You could also go out to have free meals with your loved ones at restaurants near you.

Veterans Day discounts are often made available by majority of stores, restaurants, and recreation centers. Examples of these are automotive discounts, car rental discounts, clothing discounts, shoes and bags discounts, computer and electronic discounts, education discounts, discount on health and fitness, beautification and gifts, food and drinks, home and gardens, insurance, retail (online and offline), service, sports and equipment, shipping storage, and lots more. There are several other amazing Veterans Day specials you should take advantage of, as well as those already mentioned in the answer.
