In reality, the order of seizure for the Federal government guaranteed student loans are made by the Federal government approved collection companies. The limits are set between 15% and 25% of the principal balance, depending on the length of the collection. You can get help to get out of default and have your garnishment lifted. Google a company called Default Management Services and call them. Ask for Doug
