Is there a company that can help me with student loan repayment as an international student?

I came to the US to pursue an MBA which I finished three months ago. I have a job offer from a good company. However, I received two international student loans for my MBA, and making repayments for both will be challenging. Is there a company that can offer me student loan repayment services? I am in need of school loan consolidation to help me repay my loans in a single swipe. My international loans do not qualify for student loan deferment.

You can get help with repaying your student loan at Stilt. This company offers loans to international students (F-1, OPT, H-4, and H-1B visa holders) and employed professionals in the US. Last time I checked, which is not long ago, Stilt loans had the lowest interest rates when compared to other lenders.

Consolidating your school loan will help you combine both of your loans to ensure that you only have to repay a single loan. However, it is important to note that your international student loan does not qualify for government consolidation programs because it was not provided by the US government. Only federal loans are eligible for government consolidation programs.

Stilt offers refinancing services to students with loans from private companies and other agencies. Loan refinancing is whereby you pay off a loan (in essence, your international student loan) with a new loan from another lender, in this case, Stilt. Your loans will be combined into one.

Refinancing is ideal since it allows you to get better repayment terms and interest rates. This feature offers you lower monthly payments and your total student loan debt. If your loans have a high-interest rate, refinancing them is the best way to pay them off.

To refinance your loans, visit the Stilt website right away. Below are some of the factors that influence your chances of approval:

  • No misconduct or defaults: Make sure you do not have any wrongdoing or defaults on your credit card if you are using one. The better your credit history, the higher your chances of approval.
  • Excess bank fees: Make sure that there are no overdraft fees on your bank account. Such charges show that you are financially irresponsible and reduce your chances of getting a Stilt loan.
  • Excellent savings and positive cash flow: Having a decent amount of savings and a regular saving pattern show that you are financially responsible. These habits can significantly increase your chances of getting a loan and even lower your interest rates.
  • Employment or job offer: Your chances of getting a Stilt loan increase when you prove that you are in full-time employment or have a job offer. A job indicates that you are a low-risk client and thus boosts your chances of approval. Moreover, it can make you get loans at lower interest rates and more extended repayment periods.

No need to defer your student loan when you can refinance!

I also recommend Stilt for you. My friend with an international student loan used this service to refinance his loans and is currently making repayments on a single loan. Like you, he had a job offer that he went on take up. This employment offer provided the much-needed positive that made his approval for refinancing with Stilt go through.

What impressed me most about this company are the reasonable interest rates they have. Moreover, they offer a much more extended repayment duration. I honestly did not believe such an organization existed.

I wish I knew about this company when I was moving to the US. My life would have been much better. Anyway, that's a story for some other time. I suggest that you visit the Stilt site to get more information on loan refinancing for international students. They have an excellent blog that is comprehensive and informative.
