Yes, one can get an associate's degree in nursing (ADN), and, subsequently, are eligible to take the NCLEX-RN exam and become a registered nurse. One can also get a bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) and take the NCLEX-RN examination. Both of these titles prepare to take the NCLEX-RN exam and become a RN, however, the BSN prepared nurse has more opportunities for career advancement and can continue their postgraduate studies. Depending on the emplyer, BSN nurses can make a higher salary.
