The Freedmen's Bureau had its greatest achievement for African - Americans through their service in the educational opportunities during the reconstruction period. They built more than a thousand schools for the newly freed African - Americans and spent $4000 for the teacher-training institutions. They have also been successful in helping them through the practice of aid towards their transistion from slavery to freedom.
