If you want to become a neonatal nurse should you become a RN first how long does that take then should you take a BS N program how long is that one?

Yes, you have to be an RN to be a nurse from NICU. You can become a RNone of two ways. ADN or BSN route; 2 years and four years,respectively. The ADN or BSN is the degree to which recie aftercompleting school. The RN is the title you get after finishingschool and take the NCLEX. Some hospitals are beginning to rule out DNA nurses or have toagree to go back to school within a certain amount of time to do rna-to-BSN bridge program. Really just depends on your situationwhat route to take. Do a lot of research on several programs of tofind what works best for you. Also start working as a volunteer in apediatric of the installation to see if it is something that I really want to do.
