Societies of hunters-gatherers had the advantage of being able to move from one place to another without worrying about leaving behind the fields and the farms. Also had a diet rich in protein, which was beneficial for their day to day activities. Skilled hunters would be able to provide a large amount of food in a relatively short period of time (unlike the crops from scratch), using the rest of the time for other activities.
