The Diencephalon is part of a structure in the brain that transmits sensory information between the region of the brain, also regulates the autonomic functions of the peripheral nervous system. It contains three major regions are the thalamus, epithalamus, and the hypothalamus. Subthalamus is also a part of the diencephalon.
