How far is it true to say that when we read silently we understand it better than when we read loud?

Some people learn best by seeing the information in words or pictures - those people understand what they read better when they read in silence. Other people learn better by hearing from those that benefit from the read aloud. It really depends on what type of person you are. My opinion is, while you are reading, I don't care if you do it in silence or aloud! Reading is one of the best ways to improve your mind.
