How does homework hurt a child's self-esteem?

The task, in and of itself, not to hurt the self-esteem of the children. Doing your homework can give you a self esteem boost because you have completed something difficult and can be proud that you did your best work on it. On the other hand, does not support the reactions of the parents or a sibling, a child who has difficulty with the task ("you're so stupid, you can't even that is an easy task", etc) can be very damaging to the self esteem.
