How does heat move from one thing to another?

Either by conduction, convection or radiation. Conduction is when two (or more) objects transfer heat through physical contact (this is the way the stove works to heat a pot). Convection is the transfer of heat through liquid or gas by moving the heated particles (this is how the oven works). Radiation is when heat is transferred through waves or particles (this is the way that the sun heats the earth).
