well I've been doing a lot of study on this topic as I REALLY want to go to Japan, to start it depends on the age, you must be at least 14 years of age and in the 9th grade, but by different countries vary, usually, you must have a decent GPA (that means B's and above all year) - cost can vary from 5k to 8k again varies from country to country, these costs can be lowered by donors, fellowships, and the group that recorded. You can enroll in a program of the school (IF they have one) or you can find an organization to fund on your own (like me) here is a link that has helped me a LOT: http://www.requirements.englishabroad.us/requirements_japan.HTML Good luck!
