The worst tornado on record, the Daulatpur-Saturia tornado that hit Bangladesh on April 26, 1989 was without a doubt more severe than that of a tornado. This tornado killed 1,300nd left 80,000 people homeless. The damage path was 50 miles long, compared to one or two miles by a tornado, and was probably much larger and stronger than that of a tornado, although there are no details about the information that are available. A typical tornado does not kill and is not strong enough to destroy most homes, though they may be different in Bangladesh, where many homes are poorly built.
