Both were one of the pioneers of defending the freedom of religion, equality for all and the government for the people and by the people. Rousseau fight for the equality of the citizens in the belief that the conflict came from the envy and the competition. Voltaire, on the other hand, the values of freedom, individuality and responsibility.
