In the first place, you can make sure that your own children understand the importance of education and are planning to make your best effort to succeed, this means that you have to teach the discipline at home, helping them to schedule their studies and learn how to plan and work hard for them, and making them responsible for their own actions instead of standing up and doing things for them when they don't do them. Once you have prepared your own children, here are some things you can do to help the school: . Show your support - attend parent/teacher conferences, PTA meetings, school board meetings, and any other thing that allows you to express your opinions and vote for the best of the discipline and the academic standards. . Lobby - write letters to the editor, your government representatives, the school board, and any other person in charge; show up at government meetings and raise the issue; to circulate petitions and send to the government - anything that you can do to voice opinion! . Share volunteer to speak at different classes to share their experiences with education and help students to understand why it is important to learn discipline and improve their studies.
