How can I get a UK student visa?

Everybody knows that English universities such as Oxford are very famous and good. I ask about a UK student visa because I think it’s a good place to study in a calm environment. An Ireland student visa can be good too. Ireland has lovely landscapes. I’d like to know how much time it takes to get an answer after submitting a UK student visa application. I’m just a high school student right now and I’ll need a student visa work permit to be able to pay my expenses in UK or Ireland.

You are right, studying in the UK is a very good choice because of the large array of good universities that this country offers. Besides Oxford, Cambridge and the London School of Economics rank at the top three of the list of best universities in the UK (https://www.thecompleteuniversityguide.co.uk/league-tables/rankings).

In order to get a student visa to study in the UK, you need to select a university there and contact it to start the enrollment process. If you are planning to take a short course in the summer, maybe you will not need to ask for a student visa but a tourist visa instead. When you contact your university, they will be able to guide you in the process to get a visa.

If you are looking forward to pursuing a degree course, then you will likely be asked to have a student visa, since this type of study course usually demands a long stay, and long stays demand to have a special visa. You will find additional information about UK student visas and the requirements to get one on the website of the British consulate in your country.

For instance, if you are an American student, as of May 2018 you will need to provide your current passport, that has at least one page blank on both sides, and pay a fee of £348 ( https://www.gov.uk/tier-4-general-visa).

Ireland is also a popular place for international students. If you are an American citizen, you do not need a visa to study there. However, it is mandatory for other nationalities. They will need a passport, valid for at least 12 months after their proposed date of arrival, and pay a €60 fee for Ireland student visas (http://www.inis.gov.ie/en/inis/pages/study).

The processing time for a visa varies between countries. Do not to buy your travel tickets before having your visa. You can generally expect a decision within eight weeks from the date on which you submit your application. The British or the Ireland consulate in your country will tell you if there is a missing document that you will need to provide to complete your application. Try to submit all the necessary requirements to avoid delays.

We suggest you to submit your Ireland or UK student visa applications early to avoid rushing at the last minute for a missing document. Full-time degree course students can do paid internships and do not need a student’s visa work permit.

It’s true that the United Kingdom has many good universities with a long tradition in providing high-quality education. But when I finished high school I chose to go to Ireland because it was the country that charmed me most at that time. Since I started high school my dream was to go there someday. So before I finished high school and long before my senior year there, I started to look for information about an Ireland student visa. The process to get it was very smooth for me. I think that it was easy because I started searching for what I needed with a lot of time in advance. I asked my teachers for advice and I read forums about studying in Ireland to know about other students experiences. I think that getting ready for my Irish study experience some months ahead of actually traveling was a key factor.
