An isosceles triangle can never be an equilateral triangle because only 2 of its 3 sides are equal in length, whereas an equilateral triangle has all 3 sides equal in length. But an isosceles triangle can take the shape of a right angle triangle whose interior angles are 90, 45 and 45 degrees.
