How are workers’ situations different in socialist, as opposed to capitalist, economies?

Without getting too political, socialist societies generally have lower wages (For all), with the worst conditions in the house, while the capitalist societies had, on average, higher wages and better conditions of home. However, purely capitalist societies had the worst conditions as a pure socialist, like the Banana republics of the USSR.
