We will use 3.14 as pi.So, since you have been given the circumference already, find the radio is easy. Use the formula C = 2 x pi x r To find the radius, to work backwards:14/2=77/3.14=2.23, or 2.2 inches. The answer is your radio. The formula for the surface area of a sphere is 4 x pi x R2 . Now, we already know that the radio, all you have to do is plug it in the formula, replacing "R" with our radio. Our new formula:4 x pi x 2.22 To address this, we have to follow the rules of PEMDAS (parentheses, exponents, multiplication, division, addition, subtraction). Since there is no parentheses, we move in the exponent, which is 2.22, which is equivalent to 4.84.Our new formula:4 x pi x 4.84 we're Going to plug in 3.14 for pi.4 x 3.14 x 4.84 Now, from left to right:12.56 4.84 x= 60.7904, or about 60.79, or greater estimated to 60.8.I hope this helps!
