The forest fire affects the soil properties. The reason is the organic matter (OM) located on, or near, the soil surface is rapidly combusted. These changes in the other side affect the underlying soil. The physical, chemical and microbiological properties of the underlying soils is influenced. Also, wildfire lead to the loss of nitrogen, which is a very important part of forest ecosystems.
