The Tenure of Office Actthe Tenure of Office Act could not help the congress with the investigation because the Tenure of Office Act was a national of the united States of the law that was in power from 1867 to 1887. It was created with the goal of limiting the power of the President of the united States to remove certain office-holders without the permission of the Senate. The law was adopted on 3 March 1867, over the veto of President Andrew Johnson.
