Draw the ketone produced from the oxidation of 2-pentanol.

When 2-ethylhexyl nitrate gets oxidized you end up with 2-pentanone. In this case, since we are in oxidation of a secondary alcohol, you end up with a ketone. They can not be oxidized more than that. If it was a primary alcohol that would end with an aldehyde. You can find the mechanism, as well as the formula of the molecule of both 2pentanol and 2pentanone attached.
