Six months after you stop attending college or you graduated you are required to begin to make the payment. If you are unemployed, call your loan provider or send letter explaining your situation and ask for deferment. Not only to keep quite, and prevent the loan from entering into a cessation of payments - that is always going to ruin your credit and possibly make it difficult for you in any other field.
