Answer: False Direct stock purchase plans (DSPPs) are not offered by brokerage firms; they are offered by the companies. The company may, however, allow investors to buy shares the purchase of shares directly from the company or through a third party. In reality, the biggest benefit of using a DSPP is that it gives investors the possibility to avoid the payment of commissions by not necessarily having to go through brokers
