The Bible does not tell us much about that. However, there is a mention of Jesus writing with his finger in the sand in John 8:6 and in Luke 4:17-19 Jesus is appears to be the reading of the prophecy of Isaiah. I think that He did know how to read and write, but he didn't need. He never received any kind of education, but He knew the scriptures to the letter, so that the pharisees asked. - John 7:15
