The correct answer is D. the Earth is God's creation, so, naturally, if we are close to nature and all it has to offer us, we are going to be close to God. Hopkins states here that the earth is naked, and we may not feel his riches more. So, by extension, we do not feel the closeness to God, since our connection with the Earth is gone.
