Yes, you can. However, it may not be the best option. To make a business successful involves total commitment, time, effort and money. Personally, I would like to suggest that a list of your priorities. In many cases, over ride the other, with a possibility of failure in both. Even so, read the following carefully, and really think about this. The following are the most common reasons why companies fail.

  • No written plan
  • Little or no education in business
  • No coach or mentor
  • Not to take advantage of appropriate resources (SBA and SCORE for example)
  • The lack of implementation of the finance
  • Incorrect location
  • The lack of collection and analysis of information resources (internal and external driving forces to include information on the competition)
  • Poor management skills, including the inability to appropriately manage material, human, financial, and informational resources to achieve the purposes of the organization and the objectives
  • Starting a business for the wrong reasons
  • The lack of good advertising to include a good web page
  • The lack of a true passion for the business
  • The lack of contingency planning (risk management)
