If you are taking 6 credit hours is considered half-time in many schools. Please, ask your school if they consider you enrolled at-least-half time. If they do, you may be eligible for a school deferment of their student loan payments. You must be a new borrower, (non-federal loans prior to 1993) and attend a Title IV school at least half-time. Contact your financial aid office and/or the holder of your loan for more information.
