Can someone suggest for me some of the best online language courses available online?

I want to learn Spanish and I am having a difficulty learning it just by myself through a Spanish textbook because I am not sure if I am pronouncing the words in the right way. Some of my friends have advised me to try some of the online language courses available on the internet as there are many benefits of online learning. I am also wondering if there is a website that has something like an online learning community in which students can help each other by sharing tips and information.

I think I can definitely help you with what you are looking for. There are some very cool language courses online that I have been using lately. I have learned Russian totally by myself using some cool language websites and computer applications that really helped me with pronouncing the words right. I have also downloaded different pdfs that helped me understand Russian grammar. I am now also learning Spanish through Rosetta Stone and it is really useful. One of the good things about it is that it tests your pronunciation and does not pass you to the next level until you pronounce the words in the right way. It also repeats the words that you have already learned many times during the lessons so that you won’t forget them later on. There is also a good website called Duolingo that almost does the same thing and it has a mobile app as well. I also advise you to join some Facebook groups for those who want to learn Spanish. I have not joined such groups yet because I already have a friend from Colombia with whom I am regularly practicing my Spanish on Skype, but I am intending to search for such groups and join them soon so that I can communicate with other people who are learning Spanish as well. That is of course considered a huge benefit of online learning that you cannot have just by attending a typical language course in a school or language center. You can also organize a language exchange program with some of the people who live in your city who can speak Spanish by organizing weekly meetings in which you can teach them your native language and they teach you theirs. There are a lot of expats who speak Spanish and they could be from Spain, Mexico, or South America, and you may be lucky if you may find some of them in your city. You can meet with different expats and travelers through Couchsurfing meetings that are usually arranged in big cities around the world. Couchsurfing is my favorite website to meet travelers in one’s home city or to make friends fast when traveling abroad. It is a big international community for travelers and you may also find some groups on there for those who want to learn Spanish which could be a great community for learning online. I would also like to advise you to travel to South America so that you can learn Spanish much faster.

I think that the best way to learn a foreign language is through frequent practice with native people from Spain or from South America. I lived in Peru for 5 months last year and I was able to communicate with the people after one month. After the fourth month, I was already making friends easily whenever I got a chance. Online language courses can be helpful of course at the beginning so that you can have an idea about the language and its pronunciation, but I would say that it is not the key for becoming fluent fast in a foreign language. If you are still a student, I would suggest you go on a volunteering summer internship in a Spanish speaking country for a couple of months. You can easily find such internships through AIESEC, which is an international exchange organization for students that organizes different volunteering programs.
