A. CarbonCarbon is the main constituent element in organic molecules such as fats and sugars. Carbon is the element associated with life as carbohydrates, large molecules of carbon and hydrogen, are used as sources of energy in the body of organisms. On the other hand, the carbohydrates are stored in form of fats, which in turn is composed of a carbon backbone. Even the protein molecules have a carbon backbone, they differ from other macromolecules because of the presence of nitrogen atoms.
