I think the answer is: to Inform suspects of their rights of the Fifth Amendment before interrogation.During the informing process, the police would be like saying that the arrested suspect that he/she has the right to remain silent during the interrogation process because the things that he said during the interrogation may be used against the suspect during the trial. The police also told the suspect that he/she has the right to be represented by an attorney.
