For an ionic compound to be created, there has to be a reaction between a metal and a non metal. With this in mind, the correct answer is A. the strontium and chlorine. The strontium (Sr) is an alkaline metal, while chlorine (Cl) is a halogen gas, so that a non-metal. There is this kind of a combination of metal + non-metal in the other options, so that only One is correct.
