The answer to this question is (D).they were excommunicated from the Catholic Church for their actions.King Henry VIII was excommunicated because of the divorce of his wife. This led to him starting the Church of England.Martin Luther wrote his famous "95 Theses", challenging the Catholic Church, this angered the Catholic Church and was excommunicated when he refused to silence their beliefs.I hope this helped!!
