The following steps should be taken to answer the problem.1. Deducting from the diameter (d) thickness of the wall of the tube of 1.25 in. d = 8 - (2(1.25) = 5.5in2. The radius (r), which is half the diameter.r = 5.5/2 = 2.75in3. Get the volume of the cylinder using the formula V = nr2hV = 3.14 × (2.75)2 × 14 in. = 332.45in3Thus, the iron pipe can contain approximately 332.45 cubic inches.
