B. gaps Coastal lagoons are created when the sea level is going up the coast, however does not form on the steep slopes or rocky terrain. The coastal lagoons are also the place where the barrier reefs are formed, the cutting of the sea. Are sensitive to the tides coming in, if the tides recede too, then, the lagoon dried out, however, if the tide comes in too much, then the water can break down the reef and engulf the lagoon.
